BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Sandy Point resident was arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident which took place in Halfway Tree late last week.
A police press release issued yesterday (Jun. 7) indicated that Anthony Anderson of The Alley, was “arrested and formally charged without warrant for the offence of leaving the scene of an accident.”
SKNVibes understands that the incident for which he was charged occurred along the island’s main road and, according to District Commander for Division B Superintendent Lionel Moore, the victim was riding a bicycle towards Basseterre’s direction when a vehicle approached from behind and struck him.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly left the scene and did not report the incident to the authorities.
Moore said the information he received suggested that the unnamed cyclist’s injuries were “serious”.
He was taken to the JNF General Hospital for treatment.
