BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – HAVING been arrested and charged with the wounding of a police officer, Audington Syder of Fort Thomas Road has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison where he awaits trial.
The incident for which he is charged occurred on May 29, 2016 when a boat ride was being held. SKNVibes understands that a fight had broken out between a number of individuals, and a police officer was stabbed when he tried to intervene.
SKNVibes also understands that the officer is one who was recently officially inducted into the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
The extent of his injuries are unknown to this publication.
About three days after the incident, the Police Force issued a wanted bulletin indicating that Syder was a person of interest in the May 29 incident.
Reportedly acting on information provided by the public, police officers were able to nab him at his home during the early-morning hours of June 2.
This publication was told that Syder was taken before the Magistrate’s Court where an application for bail was made but objected to by the police.
He was subsequently remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
