KINGSTON, Jamaica - AFTER making waves with two of her big hit singles, ‘Daddy don’t touch me there’ and ‘Below the waist’, Queen Ifrica is on the verge of releasing a new album titled ‘Montego Bay’.

The 12-track album is set to be released on June 16 with a stirring mix of spiritually empowering anthems, lover’s rock tunes and searing social commentaries featured on this dynamic debut for her label VP Records.

“Montego Bay exposes the many sides on Queen Ifrica. She is traditionally a deejay, so we will highlight her raw fyah burn style on songs ‘Coconut Shell’ and ‘Yad the East,” said a member of VP.

They also told Caribbean News in an interview that the title track addresses her hometown of Montego Bay’s glaring discrepancy between its pristine five star resorts verses the grim realities of a city wracked by poverty, violence and unemployment.

Some of the other tracks on the album include ‘Lioness on The Rise’ and ‘Far Away’.

The reggae singer was born Ventrice Morgan and is also known as ‘Fyah Mumma’. She began her career in 1998 after shining at a local talent contest in her hometown.

Morgan is also known for other hits like ‘Keep it to yourself’ and ‘Mi Nah rub’.
