Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 01, 2016, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 28 - 30.
ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested/Bailed: Ronel Warner of Bay Hill, Mansion Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned with a warrant, for the offences of driving without valid and unexpired license and Driving without insurance. He was granted bailed in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars $5000.00 E.C.C for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on the 4th July, 2016 at 9o'clock in the forenoon.
Arrested: Calvin Ward of Cleverly Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and Cultivation of Cannabis. With intent to supply. Incident Occurred at about 0818hrs 30th June 2016. Bailed: Calvin Warde of Cleverly Hill Sandy Point who was arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis in the sum of $5000.00 E.C.C for his appearance at the District "B" Magistrate Court on 4TH July 2016 at 9 o'clock in the forenoon
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the Basseterre magistrate court presided over by her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill- Hector in the case the Licensing Authority verses Maurice Mathew of Molyneaux who was charged for careless driving which occurred on January 24, 2016 was heard and Mr Mathew was found guilty and was ordered to pay $1000.00 by July 30, 2016 or if in default serve 30 days in prison.
In matters at the District "B" Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill- Hector, Alfred King of Verchilds who was charged for the offence Indecent language and Insulting Language which was committed on 6/03/16 at Verchilds playing field was convicted and fined $300.00 on both charges to be paid by 17/07/16 or in default 30 days Hard Labour. Supt Moore was informed.
OTHER ACTICITY:
Search Warrant Executed: Search Warrants were executed on six (6) properties in the Sandy Point area. The searches were of property and persons. In addition, sixteen (16) abandoned houses were also searched and the following items were found: Two masks, 1 black hoodies, 1 camouflage suit and a large amount of cannabis.
Search Warrant Executed: A Search Warrant was executed on a premises in Russell Village.
The search warrants were in search of Illegal Drugs, firearms, ammunition and other instruments used in the commission of crimes
Attempted Arson:- Police is investigating a report of attempted arson at "The Old House Cafe" a business located in the Stoney Grove area of Nevis. Members of the general public who may have been in the area in the night hours of Thursday, (June 29) and may have seen any suspicious activity are urged to call the Charlestown Police Station or any Police Station or Crime Stoppers at 1-80008477 (TIPS) with the information. The investigation is ongoing.
Burglary: Police at the Charlestown Police Station are investigating a report of burglary in the Ramsbury area. The V/C reported that they retired to bed shortly after midnight on Wednesday, (June 29) and at about 4.45am on Thursday (June 30) discovered the house broken. The scene was processed the Crime Scene Unit. The investigation continues.
Traffic Accident: Five (5) traffic accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways (3) in St. Kitts and (1) in Nevis for the period 28th, another (1) in Nevis for period 29th June 2016.
Community Engagement: Knock and Greet, Officers of the New Castle Police Station conducted a knock and greet and walk through in the Fountain Village, they spoke with persons in that community and they were all pleased with seeing police presence. A number of concers raised by the residents were noted. .
Citizen Safety: Police continues to conduct Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
