BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School will tomorrow (May 21) be hosting its annual Rainbow Pageant at Carnival Village from 6:30 p.m., where five pairs of contestants will compete for the Prince and Princess title.

The contestants are Savio Weeks and Serenity Johnson of Grade One, Devaski Percival and Melisha Etienne of Grade Two, Teesonie Wattley and Maluska Hamm of Grade Three, Jamihk Gumbs and Geawn Forbes of Grade Four, and Jwahir Powell and Andelique Golding of Grade Five.

According to Icilma Springer, all of the contestants would take part in four segments: Getting to know me appearance, Costume, Talent and the Afternoon Delight.

The pageant is a part of the school’s annual No TV Week, which features a number of activities throughout the week under the theme “Parents be bold, take the lead assume control”.

The objectives of the week are to improve family time, foster a love for reading as a replacement for watching TV, improve healthy lifestyles, and to empower parents with values for better parenting styles.

Adults will have to pay a small fee of $20 and children $10 to gain entrance to the annual Rainbow Pageant.
