Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 08, 2016 (RSCNPF): The mortal remains of the late Police Constable Brian J. Pacquette will be laid to rest in his home country of Dominica on Tuesday (August 9) with full military honours accorded.
A contingent of Police Officers and St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force personnel left the Federation on Monday (August 8) enroute to Dominica to participate in the funeral. The group includes the Bearing Party, the Firing Party, the Colour Party, the Mourning Party and the Defence Force Band and Drum Corps. Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley will lead the contingent.
Police Constable Pacquette passed away on Monday, July 18 while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the execution of his duties.
A candlelight vigil organized by the Police Welfare Association (PWA) was held in his honour on Saturday(July 23) at the Police Training Centre in St. Kitts at which reflections of officer Pacquette were given by friends, supervisors and members of the community at the event. Also in attendance were the Prime Minister Dr. The Honourable Timothy Harris, Deputy Prime Minister, The Honourable Shawn Richards and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security Mr. Osmond Petty.
Police Constable Pacquette served eight (8) years in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
The Office of Prime Minister has also confirmed that Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris will also attend in his capacity as Prime Minister and Minister of National Security. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Osmond Petty will also be in attendance
