Basseterre, St.Kitts, Tuesday 9th August 2016 – The East Basseterre Festival Committee has designated August 12th as the official launch of the East Basseterre Community Festival dubbed, “East Basseterre Fishnet Festival” at the Newtown Hard Court. The much anticipated community festival will be a one stop destination of entertainment that features many local and talented acts from August 12th – September 19th 2016.
A committee of young, ambitious-driven and multitalented Newtowners has set the pace in ensuring that the East Basseterre Fishnet Festival exceeds expectations as it aims to be one of the biggest and most anticipated event leading up to the independence celebrations.
Some of the most exciting events will include a revenge match between the 2016 Premier league Champions Flow 4g Cayon Rockets and home team Winners Circle Newtown United, a night of splendor is deserving as five (5) young vibrant females from the East Basseterre community will vie for the title of Miss East Basseterre. Revelers; be prepared for an unforgettable jouvert morning, festival nights, parades and troupes and much much more!
The festival kickoff event will occur on Friday, 12th August 2016 at 8:30 pm with performances from the ever entertaining Nu Vybes International band and The Small Axe Band. Musical entertainment will also be provided by TNO Sounds, Sweet Sister Sensia, The Newtown Iron Band and Rapping Sensation Mod Stoney.
Admission for the Fishnet Festival kickoff is FREE. At the launch persons are welcome to sign up for troupes, sponsor, volunteer or partner with us in this fulfilled adventure to bring East Basseterre Alive!
