NEW YORK, NY (RHONA FOX, INC.) - Ras Penco is going full speed with his latest single "Thousand Miles," scoring his first #1 reggae single in Jamaica with the hit romantic ballad last month (Jamaica Weekly Countown). Now the video is taking the tune to new ears as it debuts on BETJ's Soul Sessions this Friday, May 22.
Soul Sessions usually showcases popular rhythmic R&B and soul singles. Penco's "Thousand Miles" is a rare debut and inclusion for reggae and Caribbean music on the prime slot. The video is also in the Top Ten on Television Jamaica's Entertainment Report (ER) weekly countdown, coming in at #8 last week as the top videos in Jamaica.
With a top single and now top video in hand, Penco journeys to Miami on Memorial Day weekend for the BEST OF THE BEST concert, joining the likes of Rick Ross, T-Pain, Mavado and Serani for a showdown that pits the best in Caribbean and urban mainstream music. In fact, Penco is one of only two reggae artists on the star-filled lineup.
