BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man who was charged in relation to the traffic accident which claimed the life of Junieve ‘Spaz’ Hodge was granted bail and is expected to return to the court in less than a month.

Hodge was riding his motorcycle along the stretch of island main road in New Guinea on the evening of August 28, 2016 when a collision with another vehicle occurred.

SKNVibes understands that the other vehicle was a white motorbus and according to a police press release issued on the incident, it bore the registration number TA475 and was driven by Terrence Somersall of Downing Street, Sandy Point.

This publication understands that he was officially charged with “causing death by careless driving” and has since been granted bail in the sum $20,000.

He is reportedly scheduled to appear before the court on October 3, 2016.

Hodge is the Federation’s second road fatality for the year, both of which took place in St. Kitts.

The Traffic Department informed that the first was that of Devon ‘Patches’ Fyfield who fell from a motorcycle while riding along the western leg of F. T. Williams Highway. He reportedly succumbed to his injuries some days later.

Hodge would have celebrated his 22nd birthday later this month and was the last child of Superintendent of Prisons Junie ‘Scrape’ Hodge.

His funeral service is scheduled for September 13, and would be held at the new recreation ground in Sandy Point. Interment would take place at the Methodist Church Cemetery also in that town.
