Trio robbed under arms; bandits target Chinese Supermarket

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – OVER the past few days, investigators of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have been working tirelessly to bring to justice the perpetrators of a number of crimes, including armed robberies.

     

    Following SKNVibes’ recent report on the armed robbery of an ice cream vendor in Nevis, the drive-by shooting incident on Pond Road, Newtown and the housebreaking and larceny incident in the Frigate Bay area, police are again tasked with investigating three more such incidents.

    One of these incidents is the armed robbery of three Frigate Bay residents on Saturday (Sept. 10).

    According reports confirmed by the police, shortly after 9:00 p.m. when the individuals exited a vehicle on arrival at their apartment, they were confronted by two assailants dressed in black; one was armed with a gun and the a knife 
    The two bandits then robbed the trio of an undisclosed sum of money, their cell phones and keys before making good their escape from the scene.

    The other incident also occurred on Saturday night at a Chinese supermarket in St. Johnston Village.

    It was reported that at about 7:20 on the night in question, two masked gunmen had entered the Daily Foods Supermarket and robbed the entity of an undisclosed sum of money. 

    Like the Frigate Bay robbery, no one was reportedly injured.

    The third is a housebreaking and larceny incident which took place on Thursday (Sept. 8) in New Pond Site.

    According to the victim, he had left his home at approximately 8:00 a.m. after ensuring it was secured. However, on his return some three hours later, he discovered that it was broken into and a number of items were missing.

    The matter was reported to the police and after members of the Crime Scene Unit had processed the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding areas, they found the missing items and returned them to the resident.

    Investigations into these incidents are ongoing and the police are asking anyone who might have information leading to the apprehension of the perpetrators to provide same to the nearest police station or call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
