BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – VETERAN reggae dancehall artiste Shabba Ranks is currently making a comeback after being off the scene for several years and is scheduled to perform at a concert in Trinidad on Saturday, May 30.

According to the organisers, the concert, dubbed “I am Lengend II”, would be a legendary moment encompassing truth, consciousness, melody and vibe, “bringing the forces of the past who've given us over a decade of vibes, consciousness and emotion to the forefront where they truly belong.”

Shabba, in his days, was no doubt one of the most popular dancehall artistes coming out of Jamaica and is known for some popular songs like ‘Slow and Sexy’, Watch’cha Gonna Do’ and ‘Mr. Lover Man.

He has had over 10 albums and made a massive crossover success in the United States, thanks to an openly commercial hybrid of reggae and hip hop, and also to prominent duet partners like Maxi Priest, Johnny Gill, and KRS-One. All of this brought him several hit singles and albums on the US R&B chart in the early 1990s.

The much-anticipated concert will also feature reggae sensation Buju Banton, who is known for some all time big hits like ‘Bum Bye Bye’, ‘Muderer and ‘Destiny’, among others, and currently has a new album in stores now titled ‘Rasta got Soul’.

They will be joined by fellow Jamaican Wayne Wonder, who is known for his melodious voice on tracks like ‘Saddest Day’, ‘Hold Me Now’, ‘Bounce Along’, ‘No Letting Go’ and many others
