Non-Profit Organization, The Rotary Community Corps of Basseterre (RCC), launches in St. Kitts

    Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 6th, 2016) – The Rotary Community Corps of Basseterre (RCC) announced its inauguration on Thursday 11th August, at a meeting held at the Old Girls’ School on Victoria Road.  The RCC is a team of Non-Rotarian men and women who are committed to their community’s long-term development and self-sufficiency.

     

    The main principle of the program is to enable RCC members to personally address and solve problems in the areas where they work or live.  It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Liamigua and is one of Rotary’s partners in service. The RCC will assist the Rotary Club of Liamigua with community based projects that will substantially improve the quality of life of its citizens. 

     

    “In our efforts to achieve the principle of the program, we will work closely with our sponsor to consult with local communities, identify the needs, and plan, implement, monitor and evaluate service projects,” said Ms. Shani Reid, Leader of the RCC Basseterre. The executive consists of Ms. Shani Reid (Leader), Ms. Kerri Greene (Deputy Leader), Mr. Jermaine Hendrickson (Secretary), Ms. Venories McCall (Treasurer), other Executive members and non-members.
     
    The team is very committed and is already planning a number of activities which comprise of community projects and fundraisers.  Its first event is a Post-Independence Breakfast, slated to take place on Saturday 22nd October, at 7:00am at the Shoreline, Basseterre.  Tickets can be purchased from the committee members by calling 669-8881. The RCC of Basseterre is accepting persons who are interested in becoming members.
