Free breast exams at TDC Home and Building Depots

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS it has done over the past four years, the TDC Group of Companies is again doing its part to promote breast cancer awareness among the people of St. Kitts and Nevis through its Think Pink Promotion.

The promotion is undertaken through the Home and Building Depots (in St. Kitts in and Nevis) as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October.

The Think Pink promotion includes free breast exams and Pink Friday Flash Sales.

As part of the free screening leg of the promotion, a number of medical practitioners would be on hand every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to administer the exams in a confidential manner in what has been called the Pink Room.

Individuals needing to get to the Home and Building Depot in St. Kitts can make their way TDC’s Business Centre on Central Street and a shuttle would be provided to transport these persons to the and from the Depot at regular intervals.

Marketing Assistant for the Group Dominic Matthew told SKNVibes that over the past four years, more than 140 individuals have been screened, a minute percentage of which were men.

He said the promotion presents an excellent opportunity for individuals to capitalise on a free health examination and sale events.

“The initiative is something that is very dear to us at the TDC Group of Companies and we felt the need to continue it because of the recent successes that we’ve have since 2012. As part of our corporate social responsibility to the community we serve, we have created an opportunity through an awareness and sales event to raise the level of awareness when it comes to breast cancer, not just for women for also for me.”

“We encourage the public to take advantage of the free screening because early detection does help to save lives. We are also encouraging them to take advantage of the offers that are available to them. It is not too early to start shopping for Christmas and you can begin doing that by taking advantage of the sales which we have as part of the Think Pink Promotion.”

The promotion also sees individuals who would have been screened, receiving a 20 percent coupon which is redeemable at the Home and Building Depots.

Matthew informed that thus far, more than 30 individuals have been screened.
