The St. Kitts Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) Announces its Sugar Mas 45 Slogan Winner

By: SKNNCC, Press Release

Monday 10th October, 2016 (St. Kitts & Nevis) – The SKNNCC Slogan selection was held on Thursday 6th October, at the Carnival’s Secretariat on Victoria Road. The judging panelist consisted of members of the SKNNCC, namely Jonelle Rawlins (Marketing Chair), O’Grenville Browne (Soca Chair), Noah Mills (Committee Chair) and Marissa Hobson-Newman (Deputy Chair).

Also on the panel were independent judges, for transparency purposes, in the likes of Kevin Welsh, Derrick Fraites and Joycelyn Matthew-Martin. The SKNNCC received over 17 potential slogans from persons across the Federation.

After a lengthy review, a unanimous decision was made and a slogan was selected based on the following criteria:

    Clean lyrics
    Easy to remember
    Easy to announce
    Originality
Relevance to Carnival 2016 / Sugar Mas 45

The Sugar Mas 45 slogan winner is Romain Belgrove with “Feel the Rhythm, Positive Vibes for Sugar Mas 45.”  Mr. Belgrove will receive two (2) complimentary tickets per show at a value of EC $500.00. The SKNNCC congratulates Romaine and all the persons who took time out to write and submit slogans. Thank you all for your valid contributions.

The decision was a very difficult one as all slogans were very good. The winning Slogan will be used throughout the 2016 Carnival marketing and advertising strategies to enhance our product.
