Vehicle overturns after driver experiences strange feeling in chest

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER experiencing a strange sensation in the left side of his chest, a man this afternoon (Oct. 17) lost control of the vehicle he was operating and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. and involved Elroy Belle of Stapleton, who was operating motor jeep PA9741.

He was reportedly travelling eastward along the island’s main road and while in vicinity of Delta’s 24-hour Gas Station he reportedly began experiencing “tiredness” in the left side of his chest.

Consequently, he lost control of the vehicle and it ran off the road, striking a utility pole in the process before overturning and came to a halt in the middle of the road.

Belle was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by a unit of the Emergency Medical Services.

SKNVibes understands that he was complaining of pain to his chest and back and had minor abrasions on his right knee.

Further information received by this publication suggests that wires which were attached to the pole that was struck were downed and they made contact with nearby shrubbery that resulted in a fire.

The St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services was called to the scene and the fire was quickly estinguished.

Investigations into the incident are being made.
