BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LESS than two weeks after two gun-toting bandits had robbed Fraites and Sons Bakery in Molineaux, an armed man yesterday (Oct. 19) robbed the business establishment’s delivery van of an undisclosed sum of cash.
Information reaching SKNVibes states that the robbery occurred sometime after 4:00 a.m. while the driver of the van was making his routine deliveries in the Saddler’s Village area.
According to reports, the driver had stopped to make a delivery at one of the entity’s customers when a lone gunman relieved him of a money bag containing an undisclosed sum of cash and made good his escape.
At about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 6), while an employee was about to open the door to the establishment to commence production for the next day, a gun was placed to his head and he was ordered not to move.
According to the proprietor, Roger Fraites, who recounted to Freedom FM what took place on that night, two armed bandits had entered the establishment with the employee and they broke into an office from where they had removed an undisclosed sum of cash.
Fraites stated that the money taken from the office was not enough and they decided to wait there until “the boss” arrived.
The proprietor said on his arrival at the bakery sometime after 1:00 a.m., he too had a gun placed to his head and h was forced to open a vault from which the bandits had taken additional cash.
The police were notified, investigators processed the scene but no one has been held for this crime.
Meanwhile, a young man from the Saddler's area is currently being treated at the JNF General Hospital for a gunshot wound to his foot and speculations are rife that his injury might be related to yesterday’s robbery of Fraites Bakery delivery van.
Information reaching this media house stated that the man went to the Cayon Police Station sometime yesterday morning and claimed that he was shot by masked men in the White’s Mountain area.
With assistance from the police, he was reportedly transported to the hospital.
Reports however suggest that he might have been shot by the driver of the delivery van and had travelled from Saddler’s Village to Cayon.
