BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have issued a wanted bulletin for a young man who had escaped from lawful custody on Thursday (Oct. 20) and they are seeking the public’s assistance in locating him.
He is 31-year-old Jason Liddie, also known as ‘Mad Man’, whose addresses were given as Basseterre, Parsons and Sandy Point.
According to a police communiqué, Liddie, who is considered armed and dangerous, had escaped from police custody after being arrested for burglary.
He is 5’8” tall, brown in complexion with black unkempt hair and dark brown eyes.
“Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS), where your information will be held confidential and you may be eligible for reward,” the communiqué reads.
Liddie is no stranger to the law, and this is not the first time a wanted bulletin was issued for him.
In 2014, police had issued a bulletin which stated that he was wanted for house breaking and larceny committed on May 26, 2014. According to the police, he was taken into custody at the Old Road Police Station on suspicion of committing an act of larceny from a dwelling house.
He however escaped from custody and a manhunt was launched. He was located in New Guinea where officers attempted to arrest him, but he reportedly attacked them and was shot to the right thigh in the process.
In June 2008, Liddie was convicted for obstruction, resisting arrest and battery committed on January 15 of the said year. And in May 2011 he had appeared in court to answer charges of burglary, larceny and receiving.
