BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man was reportedly arrested and charged for the recent robbery of a delivery van owned by Fraites and Sons Bakery.
Charged with robbery is Javed Daniel of Saddler’s Village.
Sometime after 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 19), while the driver of the van was making his routine deliveries in the Saddler’s Village area, he had stopped at one of the regular customers and was accosted by an armed bandit who relieved him of a money bag containing an undisclosed sum of cash.
This publication was informed that the robber was shot during the process but somehow managed to flee the scene.
Reports indicated that he was shot by the driver of the delivery van.
However, sometime later that morning, SKNVibes learned that Daniel went to the Cayon Police Station and reportedly claimed that while in the White’s Mountain area masked men had fired shots at him and he was struck once to the leg.
With assistance from the police, he was transported to the JNF General Hospital where he was treated and warded for a few days.
However, on discharge, he was arrested and slapped with the robbery charge.
