Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts - Building on its commitment to ‘give back’ to the public for its patronage, the TDC Sandy Point branch on Wednesday 27th May 2009, presented the St. Paul’s Anglican Church with a brand new POULAN Lawnmower.

The rural retail outlet responded favourably to a request from the Church to assist with its ongoing efforts to make the premises more appealing and welcoming to its members and many visitors.

Mr. Leslian Daniel, the Supervisor of the General Store, handed over the gas-powered, turf friendly, push machine, valued at thirteen hundred (EC$1300.00) dollars, to Ms. Elizabeth Karamat and Ms. Stephanie Henville, representatives of the Church.

In making the presentation, at the brief ceremony, Mr. Daniel spoke of the Company’s pledge to support the individuals and organizations that continue to purchase goods and call on their services over the years.

“When we started business twenty-five (25) years ago, we made a pledge to live by the Group’s mission statement to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Nation through Corporate Social Responsibility. This presentation today is evidence of our commitment to that promise,” stated Daniel.

In accepting the Corporate gift, Ms. Stephanie Henville expressed words of appreciation to the Management and Staff of the Company and offered best wishes for success in all of its endeavours.

“On behalf of the Parish Priest, Clergy and Members of the St. Paul’s Parish Church, I say thank you to TDC and especially the Sandy Point branch for this much-needed donation. It will go a long way in helping us to keep our Church grounds clean and beautiful. We wish you every success now and in the future,” remarked Mrs. Henville.

In 1984, the TDC Sandy Point branch opened its doors to meet the needs of the residents and the surrounding Communities by offering home, office, and building supplies. Since that time, it has contributed in cash and kind to the Easter-Rama festivals, Sandy Point Primary School, and Lighthouse Baptist Church, to name a few.
