BVI, 16 November 2016 - Grade 12 students of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) are hosting their very first ‘Introductory Night’ to commemorate the implementation of the first Grade 12 in the Territory’s public schools.

Introductory Night will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall/ Cultural Centre.

ESHS Principal, Ms. Sandy Underhill said, “Seniors will introduce themselves to the community and their parents in an extravagant showcase of their talents.  The graduating seniors of the Elmore Stoutt High School will present to the audience all they have experienced and learned throughout their high school years.”

The principal also said the event was inspired by former legislator and culture bearer Ms. Eileene L. Parsons, who saw it fit to make special acknowledgement for the historic class, who are the first cohort of students in the first Grade 12 in the Territory’s public schools.

Principal Underhill encouraged the public to attend, stating, “Please come out and support this event and enjoy the different talents being displayed by our graduating seniors. Your presence will be greatly appreciated. We look forward to your continued support in our future endeavours.”

Ms. Underhill also extended an invitation to Grade 12 students from all secondary schools in the Virgin Islands, adding, “The students thought it would be good to share this experience.”

The admission fee is $5.00 for everyone and students are expected to be dressed appropriately as it is a semi-formal event.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is committed to creating a “Culture of Excellence”.
