Roadtown, Tortola - The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) officially launched its new bill format at a press briefing today.

BVIEC’s General Manager, Mr. Leroy Abraham, said “management felt it was time to modernize our billing process as part of our ongoing effort to improve customer service.”

The new bill format, which will be circulated from June 15 is expected to provide customers with the necessary information to make educated decisions on conservation, resulting in the efficient use of electricity.

“One of the most striking features of the new bill is the monthly usage graph. It is hoped that the inclusion of the monthly usage graph will provide customers with the necessary information to make educated decisions regarding their electrical usage,” Mr. Abraham said.

Mr. Abraham also re-iterated the role of the corporation. “BVIEC’s responsibility remains the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy; however, it is our customer’s role to conserve this energy,” he added.

Customers can look out for more initiatives from the BVIEC as they strive to improve customer service. ”The new bill is a progressive step in a range of new innovations and services being implemented which are intended to improve the quality of service to all of our customers,” Mr Abraham concluded.

The launching of the new format is in keeping with BVIEC’s mission to adopt international best practices to provide the best possible service to its customers.
