BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – VIP CONNECTED Julie ‘Lexy’ Brooks will be celebrating her birthday at De Pumpkin on Saturday, June 6.
Brooks, who is originally from Jamaica but resides in New York, chose St. Kitts to host her birthday bash and refers to the island as her second home.
She is also known for numerous events and bookings done in St. Kitts and Nevis.
“People kept saying we have not done anything in a while and we actually did not do anything in 2008, so this is a way for us to kick off a number of events that we’re planning for 2009 in St. Kitts,” she said.
“So, it’s a bash for everyone to come out and celebrate with me. We’re also having my bash at De Pumkin because we get a lot of support from those sides and we’ve never really done anything there.”
The bash will include the Nu Vybes Band, Lights Out Band, Sister Sensia and DJ Yardy, and will feature Music Festival ticket giveaways and EC$500 for the best No Linga Dancer.
Brooks, through her company, has organised a number of events in St. Kitts which featured Beenie Man, Beres Hammond, Elephant Man, Tony Matterhorn, Voicemail, Ding Dong. She has also hosted two band of the year competitions that featuring some soca bands from around the Caribbean.
Her, company VIP Connected, is one of the top entertainment agencies in the Caribbean that does bookings for various shows and festivals regionally and internationally. The company boasts of a number of artistes under its belt that it manages, including Ding Dong, Voice Mail, Tony Matterhorn and their new prodigy Troublesum.
The company also does bookings for a number of big name artistes including Akon, Etana, Beenie Man and The Game, and has done a number of bookings for artistes featured at the annual St. Kitts Music Festival.
A number of artistes connected with VIP Connected also sent out special “birthday wishes” to the celebrating lady in radio advertisements and videos. Among them are T-Pain, Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas, Maxi Priest, Serani, Tony Matterhorn, Collie Budz, Julian Marley.
