THE SANGRE GRANDE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION CELEBRATES ACHIEVEMENTS AT END YEAR CHRISTMAS PARTY
Sangre Grande: December 21, 2016: As 2016 comes to an end, the Sangre Grande Development Foundation (SDGF) had many triumphs to celebrate at their annual end-year Christmas party held at the North Eastern College coliseum in Sangre Grande yesterday.
The event brought together staff, partners and members of the community in a joyous and colorful celebration to mark the end of a successful year and to usher in the festive season.
SGDF is a non-governmental organization that has, since its inception in 2010, been focusing on the empowerment of all grassroots people to enable their active involvement in both the creation and fulfilment of their own destiny, through education and training. The foundation has been able to bring tangible relief to those most vulnerable including children, the youth and the elderly in society in order to positively influence their quality of life.
In addition, the foundation was able to foster meaningful partnerships to support its causes chief among them the signing of a notable Memorandum of Understanding with St Kitts and Nevis Company OPEN Interactive, a digital innovation company focused on economic empowerment, towards the construction of a campus that will see upcoming entrepreneurs and digital talent benefit from a creative space with capacity for advancement and the development of renewable energy initiatives.
SDGF was also able to launch its website, an information portal that was made possible through the foundation’s partnership with OPEN Interactive.
The end year Christmas brought families together in the spirit of Christmas and giving back. Members of the community were treated to fun games, performances from local bands as well as gifts and toys for the young ones.
