December 27th, 2016 -- Christina James, the woman who needed $10,000 to help rescue her son from imprisonment in January, received the just over $7,000 raised at the recently held Gospel Explosion concert organized by JIFE Music and Redeemed Promotions. A total of $7007.70 was raised on December 2nd, the night of the concert.
The presentation was officially made to Ms. James at a crusade on December 15th at the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle Church in Cabbage Tree, Cayon in the presence of congregants. Evangelist Jernel Auboine from Redeemed Promotions made the presentation in the presence of Bishop Cyprian Williams of the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle Church, JIFE Music representative Andre Huie, Ms. James and her son.
At all its events, Redeemed Promotions host what is known as the Blessing Basket, where it urges patrons to give into the need of an in individual attending the event. Radio host Corliss Toby, who was instrumental in highlighting Ms. James’ plight to Evangelist Auboine at the concert, told her story at the presentation. She explained that Ms. James, despite her financial difficulty was determined to support the concert and purchased several tickets for persons and particularly students to encourage them to attend the event.
Mr. Auboine was impressed and touched by Ms. James’ act of sacrifice and the decision was made to make her the recipient of the Blessing Basket. “We have done this Blessing Basket countless times but this one is so special to me because I know that come January who’s not going to jail,” Auboine said referring to Ms. James’ son who the money was raised for.
The actual bank check was presented to Ms. James after the presentation at the crusade. Redeemed Promotions is a gospel promotion entity based in Antigua and Barbuda that teamed up with local based record label JIFE Music to host Gospel Explosion on Dec. 2. The event was also the album launch for Di Anointed Vale, a JIFE Music artist. Gospel patrons can expect more events organized by Redeemed Promotions and JIFE Music in the new year.
