BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (11th January 2017): One ship per day at the Deep Water Port from Tuesday 10th - Friday 13th January, 2017 has been just the prescribed booster dosage recommended for heightened activity at the Multipurpose Pier (aka the Deep Water Harbour) in Bird Rock.
Yesterday, Tuesday 10th January, 2017, the Federation saw maximum berthing when four cruise ships graced the sea ports of St. Kitts, namely; Anthem of the Seas, and Caribbean Princess (Inaugural Visit) which docked at Port Zante, Sea Dream II tendered out at sea, while Silver Spirit docked at the Deep Water Harbour in Bird Rock.
This week promises to be a hectic week for taxi operators, tour operators and vendors as an average of three ships are expected to be in port each day.
The Deep Water Harbour continues to be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours and orderly activity at the hands of the Sea Port Operations Department in a short interview with Mr. Hendrickson, the Seaport Manager, he stated cheerily:
“It is a joy to see each smile on the face of the visitors when they disembark the vessel. That is one of the greatest rewards of all the work behind the transformation---from setting up to the entire layout. Though we are facilitators to trade we are also by extension facilitators to tourism and we strive to make every experience into the ports of St. Kitts smooth safe and as comfortable as possible.”
