By: Melissa Bryant, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SHOTS rang out again in McKnight early last evening (June 3), marking the second time in three days such incidents have disrupted the small community.

A well-informed source revealed that at approximately 8:45 p.m., police responded to an emergency call from the Fiennes Avenue home of Davida Phipps, who resided on the first floor of a two-storey building with her three sons. The second-floor occupants were not present at the time of the shooting.

The source further informed that about eight bullets were fired at the house by the unknown assailant(s).

Although none of the family members were injured, the house sustained minor damage as four bullet holes were clearly visible upon SKNVibes’ arrival on scene – one on the door, another on the window and two on the exterior wall.

Additionally, motorcar PA4641, which was parked on the street opposite Phipps’s residence, was grazed by a bullet on the right side of its bonnet.

According to Phipps, she was washing dishes when she heard the sudden sound of gunshots and dropped to the floor to avoid danger.

The shooting is the second in three days in the McKnight community, causing residents to fear for their safety.

On Monday (June 1), three men were engaged in a shootout on the same street but one was injured. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
