The St. Christopher & Nevis Social Security Board (SSB) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Managing Director. The position is tenable in the St. Kitts Office.
APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SKILLS:
a. A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance or other related management field.
b. A professional designation in Accounting, Actuarial Science, HR Management, Finance, Risk Management would be an asset.
c. Minimum of at least ten years’ experience in a senior management role.
d. Strong mentoring and coaching experience.
e. Knowledge of Social Security Regulations would be an asset.
f. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
g. Good judgment and perform at a high level of integrity and credibility. Must be committed to the organization’s mission and core values.
h. Skilled at negotiation and problem solving.
i. Strong decision making skills and a conduit for organizational change.
j. Ability to complete multiple tasks to deadlines and perform in a fast-paced environment.
k. Ability to relate with the Board of Directors, management and with all staff.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
a. Oversees all operations of the organization as outlined in the strategic plan.
b. Prepares documents for the Board of Directors.
c. Ensures that adequate, accurate and reliable records are kept.
d. Is responsible for creating, planning, implementing and integrating the strategic direction of the organization.
e. Ensures that the organization establishes realistic goals and objectives.
f. Provides guidance to all departments and ensures that meetings are structured in a timely manner.
g. Responsible for the day-to-day management decisions.
h. Responsible for the efficiency and success of the organization.
i. Implements and evaluates the success of the organization in reaching its strategic goals and objectives.
j. Demonstrates the leadership that is necessary to make the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives a success.
k. Advises the Board of Directors on matters pertaining to Social Security Fund, Investment, compliance, and policies.
l. Maintains relationship with the Chairman of the Board to ensure the overall efficiency and effectiveness of communication and good governance.
m. Ensures that there is a high level of fiscal management that will safeguard the financial viability of the Social Security Fund.
n. Interprets laws, regulations, Financial, Audit and Actuarial Reports and provide consultative advice and guidance to Line Managers on administrative and Human Resources issues, plans, programmes, and activities in SSB.
o. Ensures the preparation of quarterly operational, informational, and statistical reports and recommendations for the Board of Directors to include financial, risk and human resource position of SSB.
