    About St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation


    The St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation (SKBRF) is a research organization devoted to advancing the development of therapies for human diseases and the application of related models of disease pathophysiology to drug and device evaluation. SKBRF applies extensive expertise in many areas of therapeutic and diagnostic research for which clinically relevant models are feasible, with a focus on ophthalmic, central nervous system and metabolic research, as well as pharmacokinetic and safety studies.


    Job Summary


    The Landscape Manager will be responsible for leading the design and development of new landscape and garden areas and will ensure a high level of presentation is maintained for all garden & landscaped areas at St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation. The Landscape Manager will work closely and cohesively with the Landscape Team while providing team leadership. Additionally, the Landscape Manager will provide 'hands-on' work as an active member of the landscaping team.


    Key Accountabilities of the Role:


    · Assist with recruitment of landscaping personnel.


    · Effectively and efficiently manage the administration and leadership of the landscaping team through monitoring staff development needs, coaching & employee relations.


    · Oversees the daily workflow of the department and schedules work.


    · Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and creates and tracks goals attainment.


    · Accountable for final work product or initial QC of work product.


    · Serve as an individual contributor by performing technical or functional landscaping job duties.


    · Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment.


    · Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment, and machinery needed for work activities.


    · Identify staff training needs and assist with development and implementation of training programs, including plant care and maintenance, proper and safe use of tools and equipment.


    · Ensure that property landscape goals are communicated, understood, and met by the landscaping team.


    Preferred Qualifications & Skills:


    Education level/Certifications/Licensures


    · High School Diploma or equivalent


    · Relevant certification or licensures in landscaping or related fields




    · At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in landscaping, with a minimum three (3) years demonstrated leadership in landscape management or supervision.


    · Considerable knowledge of horticulture and grounds maintenance.


    Specific competencies:


    · Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, visitors, vendors, and others in the workplace.


    · Demonstrated ability in the use of a range of horticultural machinery (chain saws, push-mowers, ride-on mowers, brush cutters, etc.).


    · Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage projects.


    · Understanding of irrigation systems.


    · Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.


    · An attitude for quality, an eye for detail and the ability to strictly follow standardized procedures and written instructions.


    · Strong supervisory and leadership skills.


    · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


    · A valid St. Kitts-Nevis driver's license is required.


    · Ability to lift 55 pounds on a regular basis; work outside for long periods of time in unfavorable conditions; perform strenuous manual labor requiring considerable walking, lifting, reaching, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
