First Federal Co-operative Credit Union Limited is a fast-growing financial institution with three full-service branches in St. Kitts and Nevis. We are seeking an experienced, committed, passionate and results-driven Credit Officer to join our diverse team.
Position Summary
The Credit Officer is responsible for assisting Members in obtaining the funds that they need to borrow to achieve their goals or meet their financial obligations by evaluating their creditworthiness and offering the best solution based on individual circumstances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
1. Meet set monthly targets by interviewing loan applicants and contacting existing and prospective Members on a regular basis, using innovative sales techniques and strategies.
2. Prepare applications for review by the Credit Manager, ensuring that all relevant documentation is included and recommendations for approval or decline are documented.
3. Consult with members about their financial needs to help them achieve their financial goals.
4. Ensure that all relevant documentation is included in loan application files to properly evaluate applications.
5. Calculate terms, fees and charges on loans for accurate disclosure on loan agreements and promissory notes.
6. Ensure all substantiating and security documentation (e.g salary assignments/deductions, insurance coverage and legal documents) is in place prior to disbursement of loans.
7. Effectively communicate status of loan application with members.
8. Accurately input loans in the system.
9. Maintain accurate and complete Credit files.
10. Maintain confidentiality by keeping loan information confidential.
11. Deliver superior member service to existing and prospective members.
12. Resolve Members' questions, referring any of a contentious nature to the Credit Manager.
13. Up-sell and cross-sell First Federal’s products and services.

Preferred Education and Experience
• Associates Degree at a minimum and certification in credit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance or a related field will be an asset.
• Minimum of at least 2 years’ experience as a lender or other credit related role in a financial institution.
• Previous experience in the financial services sector will be an asset.
