We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position of Human Resource (HR) Officer.
JOB SUMMARY
The HR Officer serves as a liaison between the Human Resources function and designated business units to align HR strategies with overall business objectives. The HR Officer collaborates closely with senior leadership and management to develop and implement HR initiatives that support organizational growth, talent management, and employee engagement.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
· The HR Officer reports to the Managing Director.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process to ensure timely and effective hiring for all vacancies.
2. Facilitate the onboarding and orientation for new hires and process employee termination in accordance with company policy.
3. Administer timely probationary, mid-year and end of year assessments to ensure on time and proper completion by managers and staff.
4. Maintain proper record keeping of employee’s information both as physical files and on the HRIS.
5. Support HR audits and compliance initiatives to ensure non-conformance in HR (SMETA, FSSC etc.)
6. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
7. Assist in executing HR initiatives focused on talent management, learning and development, succession planning, and total rewards under the guidance of the Sector Talent Manager.
8. Support payroll processing and benefits administration, including coordination of the Group’s Life, Health, and Pension plans.
9. Provide advice and support to managers and staff on human resources related matters while ensuring compliance with human resource policies and procedures.
10. Assists Management & Supervisors with disciplinary matters as pertains to staff as needed under the guidance of the Sector IR/ER Manager.
11. Assist with Union negotiations as required under the guidance of the Sector IR/ER Manager.
12. Performs any other related duties required by the job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology or Social Sciences from an accredited educational institution.
· Two (2) years of human resource management experience in a unionized environment.
· An equivalent combination of training & experience will be considered.
· Demonstrated proficiency managing complex human resource management processes and initiatives.
·KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and relevant regulations.
· Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite programs and other relevant office/company software.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and build relationships at all levels.
· Good organizational skills and ability to manage time and resources effectively.
