JOB TITLE: Network/Audio Visual Technician

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

The University of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking to employ a dedicated and customer focused Individual

POSITION SUMMARY

Set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used for live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment. Also help with recording meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support for teleconferences, webinars and distance-learning classes, edit, copy and store videotapes and DVDs, track inventory of equipment and supplies.

THIS POSITION HAS PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE:

1) Provide knowledge and experience with communications technologies, protocols and their application

2) Work with IP networks and capable of the setup and configuration of Ethernet switches, routers, IP based devices, such as Analog/IP CCTV cameras, video encoding equipment and other IP based transmission systems.

3) Review all server, network and various system logs and reports for potential compliance risks

4) Assist with installation of telecommunication and network wiring infrastructure for New Buildings

5) Configure and Install new Cisco Wireless Access point

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Associates or Bachelor’s degree, completion of a two-year college diploma in Information Technology, Or a minimum of five CXC O Levels (Mathematics & English) required

2. Prior work experience would be an asset as well as being able to handle stress tolerance

3. Experience with Operating and Application Software

4. Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment

5. Superior communication interpersonal skills to serve a diverse, multicultural clientele

6. Team interaction and particular attention to detail is essential

7. Basic printer repair knowledge
