The St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA) invites applications from suitably qualified professionals to fill the position of Information Technology Officer.
About the Role
The Information Technology Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal information technology systems, managing the SKTA’s website, safeguarding the organization’s digital assets through cybersecurity practices, and providing essential infrastructure and user support. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency through the strategic use of technology.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Building and maintaining internal software and database systems to streamline workflows.
• Managing the official SKTA websites, ensuring timely updates, accessibility, performance, and security.
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and uptime, including managing backups, updates, and user access permissions.
• Leading cybersecurity efforts, including risk assessments, staff training, and incident response.
• Supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and cloud services.
• Providing technical support and guidance to staff across all departments.
• Aid in the budgeting process for new technologies.
• Supporting technological transition and helping to manage changes to business processes and IT systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams or external vendors to produce high-quality design assets.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather relevant information, updates, and promotional materials for inclusion on the websites.
• Monitor website analytics to track user engagement and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the security of the organization's information and systems.
• Collaborating with other teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations.
• Supporting the planning, execution and monitoring of IT projects to ensure timely delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• At least Two (2) years of experience in IT operations, or infrastructure support.
• Solid knowledge of website management, network systems, and cybersecurity protocols.
• Experience with internal process development and IT support.
