The Integrity Commission invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the post of Compliance Officer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of our compliance functions, including managing the intake, review and secure storage of all Declarations. Work with the public sector institutions to enhance good governance, integrity, and good faith in public officials as per the Integrity in Public Life Act.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Manage the receipt and safe custody / storage of declarations from Public Officials
2. Conduct the reviews and examinations of declarations for compliance with the Act, ensuring completeness, accuracy and validity of information to enable the Commission to issue the relevant Certificate of Compliance.
3. Conduct full audits on declarations to determine if there is evidence of possible corruption, falsehoods, or other fraudulent representations made.
4. Conduct investigations into allegations of bribery, or other acts of corruption under the Act.
5. Advise and assist senior management of public institutions to adopt and enforce practices and procedures necessary to prevent or reduce the occurrence of corrupt activities.
6. Provide ethics advice and guidance regarding the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest issues.
7. Generally, to assist the CEO and the Commissioners in the conduct of their duties under the Act.
8. Engage in other areas of work assignments of the Commission, as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Law, Auditing or other relevant fields
· Professional certifications such as CIA, CFE would be an asset
· At least three (3) years experience in auditing and or compliance reviews
· Proven knowledge of anti-corruption issues, policies, laws and practices
· Knowledge of current best practices in Ethics and Compliance programs and policies
