Job Description
The Recycling Technician will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing various recycling initiatives to enhance community participation and improve recycling processes. This role involves coordinating events, managing recycling plants, and establishing effective recycling systems. The specialist will also work closely with government personnel and public departments to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of recycling programs.
1) Support daily operations and overall promotion of the recycling program.
2) Collect and analyze recycling data to enhance program planning and performance.
3) Organize and deliver training sessions on recycling operations for facility staff, communities, and partners.
4) Supervise, support, and enhance the operational efficiency of recycling facilities.
5) Assist in developing and strengthening downstream processing channels for recyclable materials.
6) Collaborate in establishing paper recycling systems and community recycling mechanisms.
7) Plan and execute recycling-related events (e.g., launch ceremonies, outreach campaigns).
8) Support the development, testing, and optimization of the digital recycling data system.
9) Prepare reports, documentation, and administrative materials required for the project.
10) Manage and create content for project social media platforms (e.g., Facebook).
11) Maintain close communication and coordination with government agencies, schools, community groups, and partner organizations.
12) Perform other project-related duties as assigned.
13) Requires the use of a personal vehicle for work-related transportation.
Hours of Work
8-hour shifts, 5 days per week at 8am – 4pm. Candidate must be available to work extended hours including weekends and holidays if it needs.
Education
At least college degree or higher in environmental science, sustainability, communications, or a related field.
Experience and Attributes
1) Project Management: At least 5 years of relevant experience.
2) Community Outreach and Education: Experience in project coordination, community engagement, training, or event organization.
3) Digital Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing strategies, and experience in event planning and coordination.
Salary
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
