Job Title:  Heavy Equipment Operators/drivers – Skandis

Job Description 

We are seeking skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator/driver to join our operations. Successful candidates will be responsible for the operating, and servicing of equipment, vehicles, and machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment (e.g., bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, forklifts and trucks) to perform tasks such as excavation, material handling, or earthmoving. 

• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company, local, safety regulations to prevent accidents. 

• Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-operation inspections (fluids, tires, tracks) and routine maintenance (greasing, cleaning) on equipment. 

• Reporting: Document daily activities, report machine defects, and inform supervisors of maintenance needs. 

• Collaboration: Coordinate with crew members and supervisors to maintain productivity 

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator (usually 5+ years). 

• Valid class operator’s license  

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.  

Key Skills 

• Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery. 

• Technical understanding of equipment mechanics. 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions. 

• Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
