The Position:
The Lending Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of the Bank’s lending operations within the Credit and Recoveries Division. The role adjudicates credit facilities, supervises lending officers, and ensures compliance with the Bank’s credit policies, statutory laws, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards. The position supports the Chief Credit Officer with monitoring the performance of the various business lines, strengthening governance, and contributing to credit reporting and process improvements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Credit Adjudication and Underwriting Oversight:
• Review and assess, applications for commercial, and personal lending facilities.
• Ensure credit assessments are thorough, well documented, and aligned with the Bank’s credit policies and risk appetite.
• Evaluate borrower financial statements, repayment capacity, collateral adequacy, and credit risk exposure.
• Ensure consistent credit underwriting standards across all lending portfolios.
• Approve/Decline transactions within delegated lending authority
Lending Operations Oversight:
• Oversee and coordinate lending operations within the Credit and Recoveries Division.
• Ensure timely processing of loan applications and adherence to service standards.
• Monitor loan processing workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Recommend improvements to lending processes and operational practices.
Employee Supervision:
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff responsible for evaluating and processing lending facilities across the Bank’s lending portfolios.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support on credit analysis, underwriting standards, and risk assessment.
• Monitor individual and team performance to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to established service standards.
• Ensure staff maintain high standards of professionalism, regulatory compliance, and quality customer service in all lending activities.Credit Reporting and Analysis
• Prepare credit and portfolio performance reports.
• Analyze lending trends, portfolio concentration risks, and credit performance indicators.
• Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen credit risk management
• Support preparation of reports required by internal governance bodies and regulators.
Compliance and Credit Governance:
• Ensure lending activities comply with the Bank’s credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk governance frameworks.
• Support periodic reviews of credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Assist with internal and regulatory audits relating to lending and credit risk management.
• Promote adherence to sound credit practices and ethical lending standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in lending.
• Demonstrated experience in credit adjudication and portfolio management.
Ideal:
• Certification in Banking, Credit Analysis or Risk Management.
• Advance training in credit underwriting or financial analysis.
• Experience in commercial lending would be an asset.
