The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to take full ownership of the firm’s financial function. This is a high-impact role with direct access to Partners and visibility across all business lines. The successful candidate will not simply maintain accounts—they will drive financial discipline, strengthen controls, and support strategic decision-making across the firm. This role is ideal for a commercially minded accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable balancing operational execution with advisory input.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all accounting and financial operations across the firm and affiliatedentities
• Produce accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial statements
• Oversee billing, collections, and revenue tracking, including legal and trust accounting
• Perform and review monthly reconciliations, including client trust accounts
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital; provide actionable insights to Partners
• Develop and manage partner compensation and expense allocation frameworks
• Ensure full compliance with tax, regulatory, and professional obligations
• Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls and financial processes
• Supervise and develop accounting support staff
• Act as the primary liaison with external accountants and auditors
• Translate financial data into clear, decision-useful insights for non-financial stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution
• Professional designation (ACCA, CPA, CA) or active progression toward certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience in law firm accounting, including billing and trust accounting, is highly desirable
• Strong technical command of financial reporting and accounting standards
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of QuickBooks
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at a senior level
• Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable operating in a lean, high-performance environment
