Job Description: Construction Manager
Location: Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis
Reports to: Operation Manager/General Manager
Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager with specialized experience in asphalt work and airport runway rehabilitation. This role is responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing the progress from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion
- Reviews the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Oversees all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
- Coordinates and directs construction workers and subcontractors (if applicable)
- Selects plants, materials and equipment and track inventory
- Reviews the work progress on daily basis
- Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Plans to prevent issues and resolve any emerging ones
- Ensures quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum 8 years’ post graduate experience as a construction manager.
- Specialized experience in asphalt works and airport runway rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Keen attention to details and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and management skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
