Job Description: Plant Mechanic

Location: Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis

Reports to: Operation Manager/Project Manager

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair heavy machinery like excavators, bulldozers, and cranes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all machinery are checked in accordance with preventative maintenance guidelines, local regulations and health and safety standards

- Diagnose and repair Plant

- Ensure there are adequate stocks of all key parts and notify the line manager if other parts/stocks require to be ordered

- Managing all the official plant paperwork

- Mobilizing and demobilizing equipment at the start and end of the projects

- Managing the spare-part store and ordering of urgent parts and supplies

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements and Skills:

- A background in heavy equipment mechanics, diesel engines, or mechanical engineering.

- Proficiency with welding gear, pneumatic tools, and computerized diagnostic software.

- Ability to perform physically demanding, noisy, and occasionally dirty work in varying workshop or outdoor site conditions.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
