The St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA) is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Customer Service Agent.
General Definition
The Customer Service Agent's primary role is to act as a liaison between customers, the destination of St. Kitts and Nevis, and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. The post holder is responsible for providing destination-related information at customer service stations at Port Zante's arrival hall, the SKTA office at the Pelican Mall, and other locations as required.
As a representative of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, the Customer Service Agent is one of the first points of contact for visitors, ensuring a positive experience for all customers. They will handle both visitor-facing and clerical responsibilities, such as answering calls, making transfers, and processing transactions for SKTA’s products and services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Efficiently communicate destination products and services to visitors.
2. Provide timely, accurate information on destination offerings.
3. Assist visitors in accessing destination services.
4. Receive and address visitor complaints according to SKTA policy.
5. Liaise with port and cruise officials regarding visitor experience.
6. Distribute and restock tourism product information at SKTA’s information stations.
7. Notify law enforcement of any visitor safety or security concerns.
8. Conduct destination tours with visitors as needed.
9. Assist non-English-speaking visitors.
10. Greet customers warmly and ascertain the purpose of their visit.
11. Transfer calls received on the switchboard as per SKTA policy.
12. Collect cash and issue receipts for SKTA products such as decals and permits.
13. Plan and execute small projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
• 5 CXC passes inclusive of Math and English
• 2 years’ experience in Tourism and Hospitality (preferred).
• High competency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Fluency in a foreign language (preferably Spanish or French).
