    The St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA) is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Sales Representative – Sun Belt, U.S.A.

    General Definition
    The Sales Representative – Sun Belt, U.S.A. is responsible for raising the profile of St. Kitts and driving bookings through direct marketing and sales activities targeting the tourism trade, consumers, travel agents, and tour operators across the Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Orlando markets. Sales efforts will be split approximately 70% toward the Southeast market and 30% toward the Southwest market.

    The post holder will also develop and implement strategic marketing plans, maintain positive communications with the travel trade and MICE planners, in addition to completing special projects as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer and the Executive Members in the home office. The post holder must be flexible to work on weekends and public holidays and travel when necessary. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop, in conjunction with the Business Development Manager, an annual sales strategy for the Sun Belt United States and feeder cities via ATL, CLT, DFW, IAH/HOU, MCO, and MIA.

    • Identify and develop new MICE business opportunities within assigned territories.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party clients, end-user accounts, hotel sales partners, and industry stakeholders.

    • Maintain and develop local and international industry relations within the travel trade, specifically for MICE niche markets.

    • Monitor sales activity performance, identify underperforming areas, and identify opportunities for increased performance.

    • Submit monthly sales plans to the Business Development Manager.

    • Prepare monthly reports outlining sales activities, performance, and recommended tactics to increase air arrivals and hotel productivity.

    • Review sales budgets quarterly to ensure effectiveness.

    • Identify sales activities and initiatives that maximize return on investment.

    • Promote St. Kitts as a preferred travel destination to the travel industry and consumers through the Authority’s approved sales and promotional mix.

    • Develop sales activity targets and schedules, as well as marketing and promotional plans for all source markets within an approved annual budget.

    • Participate in and coordinate sales, marketing, and promotional activities, including sales calls, sales blitzes, trade and consumer shows, seminars, public speaking engagements, affinity branding activities, and familiarization trips within the Sun Belt states or as requested by the CMO or Business Development Manager.

    • Attend travel trade shows and consortium meetings as required.

    • Identify and execute sales activities that build brand awareness, demand generation, and retention.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.

    • Proven experience in achieving revenue and growth targets for a hotel, tourism board, or destination management company.

    • Understanding of the U.S. Sun Belt travel market.

    • Over five years of destination, DMC, or hotel sales experience.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

    • Strong understanding and experience developing and maintaining supplier, partner, hotelier, and community relations; experience in the English-speaking Caribbean is a plus.

    • Familiarity with TA Connect and other travel industry CRM platforms preferred.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

    Remuneration
    • Commensurate
    with one’s qualifications.
