 Job Description

    The Superyacht Assistant Dockmaster is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks, fueling, superyacht captain communications and assisting boaters. The Superyacht Assistant Dockmaster must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide SHM Yacht members and Superyacht Captains with the best experience possible.

    • Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character

    • Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions.

    • Essential understanding of Superyacht Network, departments onboard, and be the assistant to the dockmaster speaking with Captains and Department heads to offer marina services at the superyacht standard expected.

    • Assist Yachts with arranging services and problem solving for marina yacht services.

    • Work with the dockteam to maintain docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management.

    • Ability to communicate clearly with vessel captains by use of VHF radios. 

    • Perform services including overseeing and assisting docking and undocking of vessels, refueling procedures and all dock duties.

    • Schedule and assisting with Marina Pump outs.

    • Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times.

    • Availability to work overtime when required

    • Ability to work weekends and holidays

    • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

    Technical and Physical Requirements

    • Min of 5 years superyacht marina or onboard experience required.

    • Able to swim 50 metres confidently and tread water for 3 minutes

    • Ability to lift 30 pounds

    • Superyacht communication experience.

    • Previous yacht handling skills required.

    • Previous customer service experience essential

    • Valid Driving license.

    • Superyacht Radio communication experience, and boat handling certificate required.

    Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

    • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training

    • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area

    • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately
