Over 20,000 cruise passengers expected in St. Kitts this week

The parade of cruise ships into the Basseterre Roadstead continues this week with the expected arrival of an estimated 20,000 passengers.Nine ships with an estimated passenger capacity of 20,947 are scheduled to visit the island.On Sunday, the 137,000 tonne Explorer of the Seas, which docked at Port Zante, arrived from Barbados with 3,154 passengers and a crew of 1,117. Audwin Pinney of Paradise Road, Conaree was arrested for the offence of "Battery"

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2007, members of the Drug Unit conducted operations in a number of areas around Basseterre, including Conaree Village, Frigate Bay, and Stapleton Village. On Friday 7th December 2007, in a brief handing over ceremony at Police Headquarters, Mr. Othneil Heyliger, managing director of OOJJ’s Ltd. donated a canon color printer to the Royal St.Christopher-Nevis Police Force, to be used by the Criminal Investigation Department. Sea Island Cotton cultivation progressing satisfactorily; Government officials pleased

Almost three months after the thousands of Sea Island Cotton seedlings were planted on 37 acres of government owned land, Minister of Agriculture in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Hon.
