BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – F0RMER Attorney General Jason Hamilton of Lime Kiln, who was slapped with two charges yesterday (Mar. 21), was granted bail to the tune of $100,000 with two sureties.
The Attorney-at-Law was charged with Possession of a Fireaem With Intent to Injure and Aggravated Assault.
According to a police communiqué, the offences were committed on Monday (Mar. 18) and are in relation to a report made by a female, who alleged that Hamilton had threatened her with a firearm and physically assaulted her.
As a result, he was charged and subsequently bailed yesterday (Mar. 21).
In addition to being bailed, Hamilton has to adhere to the following conditions:
• No contact should be made with the Virtual Complainant, either by himself or any agent acting on his behalf; and
• He is to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 03, 2019 and on any further day to which the charges may be postponed to answer the charges made against him.
