Comment: Human life seems to be of no value these days! Instead of us singing our RIP's to our friends and families when their lives no longer exist, let us talk to them while they are still alive, let us pray for them and maybe we can be sharing a happy moment with them right now. Nash had a very bright personality, a wonderful smile. He definitely knew how to put a smile on the faces of others. Today, I reflected on a conversation we had around this time last year...Nash spoke of his demise, oblivious as I was to think that he was not a part of any criminal activities (as I only knew him for a short period) I still took the time out to share a few positive words with him reminding him of his family and his daughter especially. Just a week ago, he said "I behaving meself now man." I was pleasantly surprised to hear this... yet I awoke to this news. I am sad because it is a life regardless, however we all need to realize that if this is the life we choose then, this is the way it will be. Nash, your time was today. I can not fathom the thought that I won't see you again, but God is in control. God has a bigger and better plan for you! Citizens let us not rejoice for we all know the life that they live, let us not blame government officials, let us reach out to our friends, our families...sometimes all they need is a bit of love. I may sound naive to some but, showing that you care can go a long way, showing that you care can indeed save a life or two. Young ladies, set standards for your lives. Do not condone the lifestyle of these men, do not come on here saying "RIP REAL TEK LIFE SOULJA" or whatever it is you girls say. Be just a little bit more sensible and responsible. Rise up, put your foot down and help in the change! WE ALL CAN DO THIS TOGETHER. The old adage say "Coming together is beginning. Keeping Together is Progress. Working Together is Success." St.Kitts & Nevis we can be successful in this fight against gang violence! |
