Comment: Any place else, if the Police Commissioner's child was murdered, the full force and rathe of the Police Department would rain down on the heads of every known gang member and every young delinquent in the community. Homes would be searched, weapons would be seized, gang bangers would be arrested and wouldn't be free to walk the streets because they would be fearful of being persecuted and arrested just for breathing. Their lives would be made miserable just because they belonged or associated with a gang. The police department wouldn't sleep until justice was served. Their presence would be everywhere and justice would be swift and would be served vigorously.
But this isn't any place else. This is St. Kitts and in St. Kitts people suffer the consequences of nothing being done. As politicians and community leaders talk about what they need to do to bring a sense of security back to the island, the gang bangers DO what they do - they kill, they destroy, they ruin the lives of hard working citizens. Talking about doing something or doing something. Come on St. KItts Police Department - shut these gang bangers down, seize their weapons and impound their asses so they never see the light of day again. Let them feel and understand what true despair really feels like. Despair like YOUR Police Commissioner and his entire family is feeling right now. Show the police commissioner and the citizens of this great country you care about their pain and their loss. You are police officers and it is time for you to start doing the job of "serving and protecting". That is what you were hired to do and if you can't do that job well with the murder of your Police Commissioner's child - when do you step up to the plate and do it?
