Comment: In regard to this story, you also have to look at the policeman's point of view, the victim says he took his hand from his bag, and in doing this, the officer, may have interpreted this action as the individual reaching for a weapon; or doing something that would pose an imminent threat to himself or another in the community. In such a case the officer exercised appropriate force to protect himself and others, but a shot to the leg should be sufficient, so I don't see why the officer fired to the victims stomach. Doesn't he have a proper aim? However, if what the victim and his friend stated is true, then the officer was indeed wrong to do what he did and should be punished accordingly. The police are here, well should be here, to protect us, and not pick us off one by one and as such every aspect of this investigation should be scrutinized, down or every last detail to get the facts straight. |
