Comment: I am sure that Mr. B as a business person for a number of years is well aware of the procedures that the federal government have made available for the acquistion and use of public lands. As such, unfair as it may seem, the monies he spent pursuing what is essentially an illegal operation is lost because of the manner in which he conducted himself. He has invalidated his right to bid for the expansion of his business in this way. His activities are equivalent to a neighbour building his fence over his/her property boundary, and infringing on the right to property of his neighbour, a practice which is all too common in St.Kitts, but which has remedies by law. Mr. B has indeed misappropriated public lands. Ignorance is no excuse. If he had taken the time to ask a question he would have been directed to the Ministry responsible thus he is solely responsible for his loss. |
