The reason we collected and moved her eggs to a more secure environment is because
- Laying eggs on the frigate bay beach is highly unusual for a leatherback
-He eggs would not make it to hatchlings stage, because of all the the threats that they would face being there i.e people playing volleyball, and walking on them, potential threats from predators like mongoose etc, the facts that that beach is full of white light that will disorient the hatchlings when they attempt to make it back out to sea.
There are host of other contributing factors, but plz don't say silly things like that, because how would you feel if you were a critically endangered animal and you laid your eggs and peple just walked all over them crushing them, or other animals came and ate them, or if the made it to hatchlings they never make is out to seas because they get run over because the white light on the beach confusing them about where to go.
I just want you to get educated before you speak. The SKSTMN is here to protect these turtle that are indigenous to our region, so don't bash us when we try to do the right thing because what we know, is from proven research. |
