Comment: This is really sad and embarrassing. While I sympathize with the employees that lost their jobs because of the closure, I am indeed embarrassed by the reasons for the closure.
The company came in SK with the intention of employing 250 persons and provide long term opportunities. This is what they got:
-Employees arriving to work late with no excuse.
-Taking more than the alloted time for lunch and
breaks.
-Walking out of training to gossip on cell phones
-Not showing up and not calling
-Threatening to shot managers when they take
disciplinary action.
-Disrespecting customers and boasting about it
-Refusing to follow guidelines when dealing with
customers
-Male supervisors etc refusing to discipline female
employees that they have a "fling" with.
And the list goes on.
Come on, lets be real, which company locally or otherwise will be able to survive with this type of behavior? Don't you find it ironic that the company is closing in SK, while they just opened a second building in Grenada and a third in Dominica?
We need to change our work ethics, seriously. This is not the first company that came to SK and closed its doors because of these type of things, and if we don't change many more will come and close down the same way.
Like it or not, it is what it is.
